The Umbrella or White Cockatoo, known as U2 for short, is as the name implies, totally white. Often there will be a faint yellow tint to underside of the tail and wing feathers that varies from one individual to another.

If you want a companion parrot that thrives on love and attention, look no further! They love attention and are content to snuggle and be scratched by their human companions and can form a strong emotional bond.

One common mistake is giving them a lot of attention as a baby and then once grown, the amount they receive is suddenly withdrawn, which will have an adverse effect on them. To counter this you must try to spend the same amount of time with them daily. Nearly all other parrots will tire of handling and being cuddled, but this beautiful bird never gets enough.

Cockatoos have nearly the same cage requirements as a Macaw with a minimum of 36" wide and 24" deep. Make sure they have plenty of toys to keep from becoming bored, and they also require daily exercise outside of their cage. Click here for a photograph of the U2. $1,200 weaned.
